How do I set up an account with J&K Aquatics?

Does J&K Aquatics sell to the public?

J&K Aquatics is a wholesaler and deals only with trade customers. We do not sell directly to the public but we are more than happy to point you in the direction of your nearest stockist.

I do not have retail premises, can I open an account?

We do not open accounts with anyone intending to sell our products if they do not have retail premises. However, we will open accounts for universities and public aquaria for the consumption and use of our products.

Do I need a pet shop licence to open an account?

Any Pet Shops selling animals in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland require a Pet Shop licence and we ask that you provide a copy of it when you open an account with us. For customers who do not carry livestock (garden centres, hardware stores etc.) this is not a requirement. For advice on applying for a pet shop licence please visit www.gov.uk/pet-shop-licence. For customers in Northern Ireland please visit www.gov.co.uk/pet-shop-licence-northern-ireland. Pet Shop licences are not currently issued in the Republic of Ireland.

What is the minimum order to qualify for delivery?

The minimum order value is £425 (+VAT) in England and Wales. It is £500 (+VAT) for dry goods and £325 (+VAT) for livestock in Scotland/Some Northern English Counties. It is £500 (+VAT) in Northern Ireland and it is £500 (+VAT) for the Republic of Ireland.

Can I receive a delivery if I don’t meet the minimum order?

Depending on the location of your business, you may be able to receive your delivery through a courier and an additional carriage fee will be applied.

Do fish count as part of the minimum order?

Yes, if the order is being delivered to England and Wales.

When does my order need to be in by?

Orders must be placed by midday on the designated order day for your area. Please contact your rep or get in touch with our sales office by phone on 01278 664488 or by email at sales@jnk-aquatics.co.uk to find out what day we take orders from your area.

What delivery schedule am I on?

Depending on the location of your business, you will receive your orders on different days. If you are unsure what your scheduled delivery day is please contact your rep or get in touch with our sales office by phone on 01278 664488 or by email at sales@jnk-aquatics.co.uk.

Part of my delivery is missing, what should I do?

Please contact our sales office by phone on 01278 664488 or by email at sales@jnk-aquatics.co.uk within 24 hours of delivery to report any discrepancies.

There are breakages or damaged products on my delivery, what should I do?

Please contact our sales office by phone on 01278 664488 or by email at sales@jnk-aquatics.co.uk within 24 hours of delivery to report any damaged or broken products.

Any larger items, including aquariums or cabinets, must be checked with the driver at the time of delivery, we ask that you sign for its safe receipt at this point.

Can fish be delivered to my location?

We deliver livestock to most areas of the UK and some parts of Ireland. Please contact us to find out if fish can be delivered to your store.

I’m based in ROI; can I order cold water fish?

We can deliver some species of cold-water fish to the Republic of Ireland. To obtain the correct certification, they must be ordered a week in advance to allow for an on-site inspection by DEFRA and will require completed import documentation from you. Please contact our fish house on 01278 661918 or at fishhouse@jnk-aquatics.co.uk for more information regarding this process.

In order to import livestock into Ireland, you have to register as a livestock importer with the Irish government. You can read more about that here: https://ireland.jnk-aquatics.co.uk/pages/licences

Can I order Tortoises from J&K?

Yes, although stock is not held on our website. Please contact the fish house by phone on 01278 661918 or at fishhouse@jnk-aquatics.co.uk to enquire about Tortoises.

My customer has returned an item but has lost their receipt, can I still return the product to J&K?

We require proof of purchase for all products returned to J&K. All manufacturers require a receipt to show that the product is still within warranty. For full details on this, please click here
