NEWA Cobra is a multi-function, four stage, internal filter that includes a built-in surface skimmer. The neat, compact, and functional design allows it to go about its work almost unnoticed in any underwater world. The range consists of 4 filters, perfect for small to medium sized aquariums up to 175L. These filters are recommended for use with all tropical and coldwater fish and especially good in planted aquariums.

Four Stage Filtration:
- Firstly, the water enters the floating surface skimmer compartment (which is detachable) drawing approximately 80% from the surface and 20% from a lower intake grill. This is very helpful for keeping the surface clear and free of floating particles such as dust and protein, maintaining the oxygen/gas exchange in the water.
- Secondly it enters the mechanical pre filter where solid matter is collected, and some biological activity takes place.
- Thirdly, the water passes through into the biological chamber where the nitrifying bacteria remove any ammonia or nitrite.
- Fourth and finally, the water moves into the NEWA Aqua Diamante filtering cartridge which is a super-active carbon absorbent filtering media. This removes smells, colourants, chlorine, ozone, proteins, algaecides, and other chemicals to create crystal clear water.
- The water is then pumped back into the aquarium.
- The pump has a flow adjuster, an aeration feature (attached separately), a telescopic and fully rotational outlet which can also be attached to flexible or rigid pipes plus a silent rotor.
Filter upgrade:
Every NEWA Cobra can be turned into "COMBI" version using a special support, MF865 NEWA Heater Support for Duetto DJ Filters. This support can be easily fitted on to either side of the motor body.
It has been designed to support NEWA Therm or other heaters up to 23mm in diameter. Installation is simple: first, insert the heater into the support and then insert the support into the special guides of the motor body.
