These granules will remain active for up to three months depending on the aquarium size and the level of water pollution. By keeping phosphate levels low, this will help to reduce nuisance algae growth. Sufficient for removing up to 12,500mg of phosphate from aquarium water. Suitable for use freshwater and marine aquariums.

Phosphate is an important nutrient in planted aquariums, but only in small amounts. For most tropical community aquariums, 0.1mg/l is an ideal level.

In a marine or reef aquarium this needs to be much lower. 0.03 mg/l will help keep corals healthy and growing well.

Anything higher than these concentrations will increase the risk of algae growth.

Rinse before use, and place into a net bag. Fit into a part of the filter after the mechanical and biological sections.
