A stunning deep blue form of the well respected Emperor Tetra. These are a beautiful and interesting fish that can be kept in most community aquariums. They can be kept other peaceful species and also cichlids such as Discus and Angelfish. Growing up to 5cm, these need to be kept an aquarium at least 60cm long with lots of plants, dark substrate, and an open swimming area with good water movement. Keep with other peaceful fish and feed a mix of flakes, granules, and frozen tropical foods.
These fish originate from river basins Western Columbia. They will require steady water movement and will tolerate a pH level of anywhere between 5.0 and 7.8.

Native habitat: Western coast of Columbia
Potential lifespan: 4-5 years.
Maximum size (approx.): 4cm.

• moderate, for slightly more experienced fishkeepers

• mid and top-water.

• egg scatterer.

• difficult, females normally have a rounder belly area than males.

• Suitable to keep with any small and medium sized community fish including Danio’s, other small Tetra’s, Platies, Mollies, small/medium cichlids, Corydoras catfish.
• Do not keep with significantly larger or predatory species.

• Good filtration, fast moving water, plenty of oxygen and these fish will thrive.
• Regular water changes,
• Will not eat plants.
