Low carbonate hardness (KH) is a natural consequence of biological processes in aging water and can result in an unstable permanent hardness (pH). If left unchecked, low KH can lead to unstable water quality, and a sudden drop in pH. This can lead to serious illnesses in fish.

Carbonate hardness minerals can also decrease over time due to influx of rainwater, soft tap water and biological processes using these minerals. A KH of approximately 6 dKH is ideal for maintaining a stable pH in most garden ponds.

Dosage & total treatment volume:

• To increase the KH of your pond water by 3-4 dKH: Add 50ml powder to 340 litres (75 imp gallons).
