The Eheim skim350, although designed for constant use, is also suitable for short term use. It can be used for 2 hours at time for example, after feeding.

This skimmer uses an adjustable flow-levelling extractor for when the water level rises and falls. The drawn in bacteria and dirt particles collect in the filter sponge. This is simply removed after use and cleaned thoroughly.

(If using it alternately in several aquariums, please make sure that algae spores or diseases are not transmitted from one to the other.)

Top tip:

These skimmers are extremely useful in aquariums which are densely stocked or have a heavy load/feeding program to deal with. These include Rift Lake biotopes, cichlid set ups and some planted aquariums.
