Description

The world's first aquarium filter with moving filter medium. Ziss Bubble Moving Media Filters are air driven filters which provide your aquarium with clean, but most importantly, healthy water. The filters stimulate the natural processing of waste substances in the water, so that toxins such as ammonia, nitrite and nitrate are converted in an organic way. An air pump is required to run this filter (recommend an Eheim Air 200 or equivalent).

Features:

  1. The first stage is a pre filter sponge that collects coarser dirt.
  2. The actual filter chamber (phase 2) contains the new Ziss filter medium ZM-II. This filter medium has a “service life” of up to 15 years and a size of only 7 mm.
  3. Come with very stable and strong suction cups and can be placed anywhere in the aquarium.

This filtration method is used in large ponds and commercial installations under the name ‘Moving bed filter’. The name indicated that the filter media move over each other continuously, providing even better filtering.

The ZB Bubble Moving Media Filter provides natural processing of waste products in the water, in which substances such as ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are converted in an organic manner.

The large quantities of air that are being pumped into the filter, provide degassing of these waste products. In this way, the ZB Bubble Moving Media Filter makes sure that the Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) and Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD) values remain low. These values reflect the quantity of oxygen required to decompose the organic waste particles present in the aquarium. The lower these values are, the cleaner the water in the aquarium is. Using this filter also results in a significant slowdown of algae growth, keeping the aquarium extra clean!

Benefits of using a Ziss ZB Bubble Moving Media Filter:

  • Can be used for filtering of both fresh and salt water.
  • Removes cyanobacteria from aquaria.
  • Provides clear, clean, and most of all, healthy water.
  • Easy to combine with other products.
  • Oxygen-rich filtration.
  • Offers good water circulation.
  • Long lasting.
  • Little to no maintenance (only clean the pre filter when required).

The filter simply connects to an aquarium air pump by means of 4/6mm air hose and the flow is adjusted with the supplied regulator. The air supply keeps the filter medium in constant motion.

  • For aquariums up to 200 litres.
  • Contains 200ml of Ziss filter medium.
  • Dimensions: 20 x 7 x 7cm.
  • An air pump is required (recommend an Eheim Air 200 or equivalent).
